Limes 2007

LIMES IS AN ART EVENT ARRANGED BY HETEROGÉNESISTHE EVENTS TAKE PLACE IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLDLIMES2007 WILL TAKE PLACE IN AYSÉN, THE CHILEAN PATAGONIADATE: 10TH- 15TH DECEMBER 2007Organizer in Aysén: Guillermo MartínezAGRUPACIÓN CULTURAL DOMO PIREwith the support of the city hall of Aysén
THE CONCPET OF LIMESLimes is a physic as well as a conceptual space in which different art and cultural expressions interact. Often the place plays an important role since it constitutes the environment in which the artist is going to work and hopefully leaving a trace in the people living in that place. Of course the relation the visiting artist can have with the environment is quite different to the relation the local people has with it, however it is interesting to see how the artist tries to contact with the people in a foreign landscape, what he/she has to say and learn. Limes intends to be part of the place in some way and to take the spirit of the place and the people back to where the artist lives. There is no determinate theme for Limes because the place is often enough to inspire different propositions and because the artist must be free to meet the other without any predetermined concept. Limes has taken place in opened and closed spaces, in established places for art (such as National Museums of Art) and outside those places (in the main square of Lund). Aysén belongs to Patagonia, the southern region of the continent. The Chilean Patagonia is characterized essentially by an extraordinary and rural geography that accentuates the contrast of its extensive forests with the amazing landscape of the snowy mountains that reflect in the green emerald of its multiple lakes and mighty rivers. This singular landscape reaches a new and diverse dimension throughout the whole coast of the region, which is broken by countless channels and fiords, up to where the millennial ices of their numerous glaciers arrive. It is a unique territory whit its virgin and wild beauty that reflects the character and the pioneer spirit of their inhabitants who are fully identified with the concept of living in harmony and balance with the environment. The participating artists come from south and north of Europe and from Latin American countries. They will meet and interact in this beautiful natural scenario.

Hola , Casimiro.
No he encontrado tu correo electrónico. El mío es xabierkxide@gmail.com
